Friends only journal!! [01 Aug 2007|02:37am]

Because I just feel safer that way, this journal is mainly friends-only. I am not picky, so comment here if you'd like to be added.

WTF??

All of my LJ friends are getting reamed over at stupid fucking "GreatestJournal" and everyone is deleting their LJ.

I fucking hate that community.

Things that piss me off [26 Jun 2007|01:58pm]

  • I mentioned my account was overdrawn about a week ago, right? Well, I have direct deposit, and as soon as I got paid those fuckers took over $100 out of my account! Needless to say, after paying some bills and buying the essentials for the girls and myself, I have 41 cents in my account, and about $10 in my pocket. I account for every penny of my paycheck, that really hurt.

  • Who really gives a flying fuck about Paris Hilton? I mean, seriously.

  • I hate, hate, hate menial, look-busy work. We're slow today, but we have many many days where we can't stop to breathe, so when it is slow, and we've done all of our work and then some, how about leaving us alone for 15 minutes to take a breather? Assholes.

More birfday stuff [15 Jun 2007|07:02am]

A year ago today (I made this phone post after midnight, but the girls were born the previous day, at 11:30 and 11:34pm respectively) - voice post telling the world that the girls were here!

Okay, I think they're waking up. I have to go sing to them, now!

Money money money, always money! [06 Jun 2007|12:27pm]
    [ mood | sad ]

My cell phone was shut off today. I knew it was coming, since I've not paid the bill in two months (rent, gas and electric rook precedence), but it's still kind of upsetting. What's more is it's in my sister's name, so this Friday I have to pay at least one month off to keep her name in good standing with T-Mobile.

Just another reminder of how much we're struggling with money. My mom got more hours working for Ellen, so she'll be bringing home three times as much as she was before (so about $300 every 2 weeks) which is a huge help. Even if I wanted to go back to working full time (which I really don't), I couldn't because now she works the days I am off and we'd have no one to watch the girls.

So, I have decided that I am going to look into trying to watch some kids for some extra money. Babysitting is something I've always done and always been good at since I love kids. I can handle Bronte and the girls at the same time, so I can handle just about anything! Plus this would be god because I could watch kids at my house (not many, understand, since I think you need a license or something for that, just one or two) or theirs while I have the girls, so I won't feel like I am not spending enough time with them. Plus it would be good to expose them to other kids and stuff.

That's my plan, taking on a sort of "second job" so I can contribute more and maybe not be literally penniless just a few days after getting paid, because we're struggling, and I would like to be able to buy the girls a toy every once in a while, which I can't really do right now. *sigh*

    Democratic debate [04 Jun 2007|11:30pm]

I watched the Democratic debate last night. Interesting stuff. I like John Edwards, but then, I have liked him since he ran in '04. He's calm, rational, and he answers questions directly and clearly, not that politcal question-dodging that I see time and time again. I really, really like him. I really hope he wins the primaries.

Obama was pretty good too for the same reasons, though not quite as much as Edwards. I am not Hillary Clinton's biggest fan. I don't like her too much, her past voting record is suspicious, and in the debate it was quite clear she has very little experience. That being said, despite her voting record in the past, she vowed (like just about every other Dem) that in the first 100 days she'd end the Iraq war (debacle?), so if she were to win the primary elections, she would get my vote nonetheless. I am a huge fan of her husband, but she lacks his charisma and, mmm, I don't know. SOMETHING. When I think of the Clinton years, I think of a time of relative peace... I want that back so bad.

So, yeah, interesting. I love these debates, looking forward to the next one. I really want my vote to count this year, I want to really look at all of the candidates. It's important we get someone that can actually WIN, but we need someone who knows what they're doing - I still think John Edwards would be the best man for the job.

I don't think Hillary or Obama can win the presidency, our society is TOO racist, TOO sexist, to let that happen, and it's a damn shame. I would love to see the first woman or black president in my lifetime, it would be amazing! But I'd pick Obama over Clinton any day.

Cold War, part deux... [31 May 2007|12:28pm]

Putin: Missile Tests Are Response to US

Honestly, I don't really understand why we withdrew from the Anti-ballistic Missle Treaty to begin with. I mean, I know our reasons, but I've read about the pros and cons and I just think it's going to cause problems for everyone down the road. And now it's starting.

I don't lame Putin at all (gasp, pinko commie bastard that I am), they have to protect themselves too. I hadn't even heard about the missile test until this afternoon, and it happened Tuesday - the TV and internet was too busy worrying about how much of a pillhead Lindsey Lohan is or whatever newest celebrity trainwreck is the talk of the moment. Sickening.

Hey, thanks Dubya, was hoping we'd start up that Cold War II soon!

    <3 [07 May 2007|10:30pm]

My girls love cats. It makes me think of [info]dragonankh;s son, since his first word was "cat", but they know what a cat is. If I ask where the cat is, they look for her or at her. And tonight, after explaining several times that the picture I was pointing to in the book was a cat, I decided to see if it sunk in, and three times, when I asked where the cat was, Elizabeth pointed to the actual cat on the page! My kids'a genius I tell you!

They are so close to crawling. I know I keep saying it, but they're starting to crawl backwards now. And they managed to somehow roll/scoot/slide all over the place. They love going over to the TV stand, opening and closing the cabinet doors and grabbing at the DVD player. It's so funny, they can get into almost anything now (and they pull up to their knees so far), I wonder how much trouble they'll get into when they're crawling or walking! Yikes...

    New baby! [07 May 2007|12:57pm]

My cousin Michael and his girlfriend Erica had their second child (and their second son) on Monday. Nichola Thomas Giordano was born at 4:03am on April 30th, weighing 7lbs 2ozs. He's a cutie, see?

Erica with Mikey Jr. and baby Nicky

So, anyway, the girls are napping and mom is here dying her hair and doing laundry and stuff, so I am heading over there to see the little man. Oooh, squishy new babies!!

    Cool [02 May 2007|07:57am]

As you know, my mother watches the girls on the days that I work. Well, I was on the shuttle coming here and my phone started vibrating. When I saw 'Home' I of course thought something was wrong.

No, nothing wrong. She just called to tell me that when she went into the girl's room this morning, Elizabeth was sitting up in her crib! And she was just smiling ear to ear, so proud of herself. That's the first time either of them has ever gone from flat on their back (or stomach) to sitting up. Pretty neat and exciting!

    Just wanted to share that.

    Some Bush-ramblings [01 May 2007|10:38pm]

My non-leftist friends might wanna skip over this. I love you guys!!!

    Anyway - Iraq War Timeline

Lots of stuff I'd forgotten about.

Interesting to note that in his speach tonight, Bush went on and on about how he opposes setting timetables in conflicts like this. Yet he had no problem calling on President Clinton to do exactly that back in 1999. Even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pointed out this blaring inconsistency.

Interesting stuff, indeed. I was hoping that somehow, President Bush would've decided that the American people have spoken, and the majority of us want to end this war, or at least see an end in sight. It's kind of upsetting that he ignores what everyone around him is saying, that the country is unhappy with this 'war'.

I guess it's a good thing he told us, four years ago today, that in Iraq, it's "Mission Accomplished".

Whoa. I seriously just ordered a pizza online. Crazy shit.

I have no cash and the girls are napping so I couldn't hit a MAC.

As for pizza, yeah, having a bad diet week. I have to get myself together here.
